„Schools of Trust“ ist ein englisch-deutscher Dokumentarfilm unter der Regie von Christoph Schuhmann, der alternative Bildungsformen anhand demokratischer, selbstbestimmter Lernschulen auf der ganzen Welt untersucht.
Er begleitet zwei junge Männer – einen Lehrer und einen BWL-Studenten – auf ihrer Reise durch sechs Länder und drei Kontinente, wo sie mehr als 20 innovative Schulen besuchen, in denen Kinder frei entscheiden können, was, wann und wie sie lernen möchten, und sich voll und ganz an Entscheidungsprozessen wie der Einstellung von Personal und der Budgetplanung beteiligen. Der Film fragt, ob es Schulen gibt, an denen Schüler tatsächlich Spaß am Lernen haben, und was passiert, wenn Kinder Raum bekommen, ihrer Neugier zu folgen und sich natürlich zu entwickeln.
